'The color of enlightenment'

Yellow, the color of enlightenment and the sun, is one of the three primary colors. Alongside orange, it is said to have been the favorite color of the painter Vincent van Gogh. In fact, yellow inspires the spirit and is associated with truth, knowledge and wisdom. In many cultures, yellow stands for the divine and beauty.

Yellow has radiance and is the best perceived of all colors, even from a distance. What began with the legendary Checker Cab is still a tradition in New York City today: the cab color yellow. Yellow glows and in combination with black, this color duo has a warning function in the animal world. Wasps and hoverflies, for example, are yellow, not to mention the fire salamander. Warning signs have a yellow background and high-visibility vests are also yellow, neon yellow.

Yellow in rooms is used as a wall color at best, but as a home accessory or even a design object? Rarely. Quite wrongly! Because yellow awakens the spirits and brings a good mood into the home. Yellow cushion, a yellow coatstand, a yellow pendant light a yellow chair a yellow sideboard - the radiance of this energetic color and its positive effect on our psyche is often underestimated.
