FRISBI pendant light
Light for mood and zones
The pendant light Frisbi was named by Archille Castiglioni after the Italian word for the Frisbee throwing disc. Like the throwing device, the Frisbi pendant light is characterized by a light, flat disc that limits the pendant lamp at the bottom and appears to float in the room. This metal disc is held in place by a delicate yet stable cable construction, which is attached to the black luminaire cable in a kind of triangular formation and simultaneously balances the lower disc horizontally. The luminaire cable is embedded in the chrome-colored luminaire body. The lower metal disk has a circular recess. In this way, it serves as a reflector for indirect light on the one hand and as a passage for direct light downwards on the other.

Direct and indirect light
Archille Castiglioni had already worked in the 1950s with his brother Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed a luminaire for the Milan Chamber of Commerce that simultaneously emits direct and indirect light. Although the Saliscendi pendant light even more elaborate and cost-intensive, the Frisbi pendant light followed the same ingenious principle of combining direct and indirect light.

Round dining tables or tables for four people can manage with one Frisbi pendant light . For longer tables, two or more Frisbi pendant lights, mounted in a row, are recommended.
