Snoopy table lamp
Inspired by Charlie Brown's pet dog Snoopy (Derived from the English word "to snoop" – "to snoop around") from the American comic strip "Peanuts" by Charles Monroe Schulz, the classic Snoopy table lamp design consists of a black lampshade and a white marble base. The Snoopy table lamp is now also available with a green lampshade, as well as in a 50th Anniversary Limited Edition with a matte black lampshade. Snoopy the dog, a Beagle, usually lies on the roof of his doghouse, philosophizing to himself. He's an art lover, has a genuine van Gogh hanging in his doghouse, and is considered eccentric and whimsical. The Snoopy table lamp by the Castiglioni brothers is just as much a part of this. The one from the outside black lacquered metal shade, shines from within White and reflects the direct light downwards. The Snoopy lamp by Flos has a light output of up to 105 watts, adjustable via an integrated dimmer. Today, dimming lights is common practice, but back then, in 1967, it was an absolute novelty, and the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni Flos pioneered the use of this technology with its Snoopy lamp. Equipped with an E27 bulb, the Flos Snoopy table lamp can be used with both LEDs and energy-saving bulbs. The ideal light color for the Flos Snoopy table lamp is warm white light – 2,700 or 3,000 Kelvin. The lacquered lampshade features three ventilation holes. Their arrangement is reminiscent of a bowling ball, and, as in bowling, these holes prove to be a practical design element, for example, when changing the lampshade.
