In 1975, it was revived BD Barcelona The furniture of the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí is brought back to life. Furniture that Antoni Gaudí designed for his houses Casa Batlló and designed by Casa Calvet, are manufactured using the exact same elaborate production processes that were used to produce the first pieces. In addition to the chairs named after the houses, „Batlló Chair“ and „Calvet Chair“, which „Calvet mirror“" and the "„Calvet wall-mounted coat rack“It is primarily stylistic elements such as door handles, door levers and peepholes, so-called „spies“, that make Gaudí’s unique Modernisme design style tangible in one’s own home.

The Calvet chair, designed for the ground-floor offices, resembles a sculpture more than a typical office chair. Although crafted from solid oak, its delicate and elegant design prevents it from appearing bulky or heavy. Splayed rear legs provide the chair with a stable base. A seat that curves gently towards the front edge offers the sitter additional space. Together with the richly ornamented backrest, this gives the Calvet chair a certain dynamism and evokes what we now know as "chair ergonomics.".

The Calvet chair is part of the Art Editions by BD Barcelona, which exclusively includes handcrafted art objects – exclusive, unique and of timeless elegance and value. TAGWERC As an official partner of BD Barcelona, we offer the original designs from the Art Editions of BD Barcelona both online and offline.

Antoni Gaudí is one of the most famous—if not the most famous—Spanish architects of the 20th century. The Catalan-born architect created a series of fantastic buildings in his hometown of Barcelona, which continue to attract millions of visitors every year. To complement his buildings, Gaudí created a range of interior design objects that reflect his design style, Modernisme.
