Tappeto Prato carpet

Butterfly, lawn and sky

Farfalla, Prato and Cielo are the three carpetstaken from the Farfalla pattern, which was developed in 1967 by the Archizoom was designed. The pattern forms an avant-garde contrast between floral Art Nouveau decorations and the experimental pop art of those years. The carpets Farfalla, Prato and Cielo are extracts of the main components of the original pattern, namely a butterfly, the lawn and the sky. The carpets are characterized by an expressionist explosion of primary colors and simple, geometric shapes, which are filled in with graphic elements such as polka dots, checks and diagonal stripes - typical of the works of artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.

Prato as an eye-catcher

The dominant color is a rich Greenwhich is broken up by abstract flowers. The irregularly curved edge of the carpet is decorated with Black accentuated. The rug is one hundred percent hand-tufted from wool in India. In this way, the unique effect of the rug can be achieved through a skillful combination of texture and color. Due to its expressive look, Prato can be used not only as a floor rug but also as a wall rug - ideal in areas with lots of concrete, unused wall and floor surfaces and otherwise rather sober areas such as corridors, offices and reception areas. Here, the Prato rug not only creates an eye-catching feature, but also absorbs sound, thus helping to optimize acoustics.

Feng Shui in flow

Prato from Poltronova is a true work of art that combines design history with the demands of modern interior design. Inspired by the Farfalla pattern of the Archizoom design group, Prato embodies the spirit of Radical Design and stands for anarchy against established design taste and new beginnings. As Prato is neither round nor angular in shape and has a flowing form with no corners or edges, the rug is also ideally suited to the Daoist theory of harmony, Feng Shui. Natural materials and curved shapes block out hard materials and angular shapes such as tables, cupboards and the like.

Our conclusion

Prato, the abstract Radical Design-style lawn carpet, is sure to make the hearts of golfers and design lovers beat faster. The origin of the pattern goes back to the 1960s and the Farfalla design by Archizoom. Elegant and unusual, Prato can be used not only as a floor rug but also as a wall rug. Made from the natural product wool, Prato offers not only a unique design but also durability, robustness and outstanding comfort.
