The Ultrafragola mirror is both a wall mirror and a light fixture. Designed in 1970 by Austrian designer Ettore Sottsass, it is still manufactured today by Poltronova (Centro Studi Poltronova) in Florence. Standing almost two meters tall, the Ultrafragola mirror impresses not only with its imposing size but also surprises viewers with its integrated lighting feature. The wave-shaped frame then glows a light pink.

Ultrafragola Mirror - Everything but ordinary

The interior design experts from the TAGWERC Design STORE recommended Ultrafragola from Poltronova For all those who want to combine exceptional design with well-thought-out functionality. Despite its size, Ultrafragola has a shallow depth of only 13 centimeters. Therefore, the Ultrafragola mirror light by Poltronova is also ideally suited for use in hallways, next to the entrance in the bedroom, or in a walk-in closet. The frame of the Ultrafragola mirror light is concealed when switched off. white and thus appears neutral. When switched on, Ultrafragola glows pink, with the intensity of the color seemingly decreasing from the outside in due to the arrangement of the individual waves. The mirror owes its name to this special lighting design, as Ultrafragola translates roughly to 'ultra-strawberry'. This mirror is anything but ordinary.

Wonderful femininity

Ultrafragola was part of the series 'Mobili Grigi', which Ettore Sottsass Designed in the late 1960s / early 1970s. Matching the Ultrafagola mirror, the 'Elledue' bed and a chest of drawers were created., chairs, The table and the lamps 'Cometa' and 'Bruco'. All the furnishings shared integrated lighting and a design dominated by waves. Ultrafragola is an homage to the wonderful femininity of the room, as the wave-like profile of the mirror lamp is meant to evoke long, flowing hair.
