Handcrafted feather wings
Birdie - English for 'little bird' - describes the special shape of this filigree and artistic ceiling chandelier. Pairs of wings, handcrafted from white goose feathers, act not only as a decorative element but also as a reflector. They are fixed directly to the E27 base, the holder for the LED bulbs. The manufacturer recommends using hairspray to protect the wings against dirt. The socket is held in place by flexible metal wires. The power is supplied via additional cables.
Light bulb with wings
"The light bulb with wings, which was first presented in 1989 in the Lumière Hazard Réflexion exhibition at the Fondation Cartier, was not only a stroke of design genius, but also became the trademark of Ingo Maurer," is how the manufacturer describes the background. The lighting designer and light artist Ingo Maurer was dubbed the "poet of light" not least for this reason.
Charismatic ceiling chandelier
"This special ceiling light can be used in a hallway, a foyer, a lobby, above a dining table, a sideboard or in a dressing room," recommend the interior design experts at TAGWERC. The user becomes a coDesignerwhich bends the lights into the desired position. Birdie's Nest brings a modern, clearly structured ambience to life - as is often found in new buildings - but also harmonizes with a classic ambience.
