Uplight and downlight

Ingo Maurer designed the Zettel'z 5 pendant lamp back in 1997, breaking – as is so often the case – with conventional ideas about what a pendant lamp should be. The lamp has a diameter of 120 centimeters and is equipped with two light sources: an uplight and a downlight. These have E27 sockets, making them compatible with all suitable incandescent bulbs within the recommended light output range. The Zettel'z 5 pendant lamp comes standard with a 3.3-meter-long power cable, but can also be supplied with a shorter cable. TAGWERC It can also be ordered with a 6-meter-long cable suspension. For small spaces, the [option name] is recommended. Note 6 with a diameter of 80 centimeters, a light source and DIN A6 Washi paper.

Washi as a World Heritage Site

Washi is the name of the Japanese paper used for Ingo Maurer's Zettel'z pendant lamps. Despite its delicate appearance, this special paper is many times stronger and more durable than conventional paper made from wood pulp. It is produced from the fibers of Japanese wood species using traditional manufacturing techniques and was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2014. TAGWERC offers the original Zettel'z 5 paper sheets in two different replacement sets: 80 unprinted sheets or 31 printed and 49 unprinted sheets.

A masterpiece of design and craftsmanship

One thing is certain: the Zettel'z 5 pendant lamp by Ingo Maurer is undoubtedly a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. With its unique shape, versatility, adaptable silhouette, timeless elegance, and, last but not least, sustainability, the Zettel'z 5 combines everything one could wish for in a room light. This makes the lamp not only a fully functional lighting element, but also one that lends a special atmosphere to any room.

Light quality

„The quality of the light is more important to me than the form, and so I have concentrated on that,“ Ingo Maurer said about his work as one of the most important light artists.Designer of the 20th century. His lighting designs were preceded by the iconic lamp „Bulb“, which came about in 1966 through a twist of fate and has accompanied Ingo Maurer throughout his life: „The light bulb has always been my guiding principle, from the very beginning.“ Maurer’s designs are diverse and sometimes arise in symbiotic cooperation with other designers, such as in 2012 with Moritz Waldemeyer for the LED lamp with the telling name „My New Flame“.
