Fabrica Research Center
Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. He laid the foundation for his success with a degree in industrial design, which he completed at the Instituto Europeo di Diseño in his hometown and at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD) in Paris. In 1997, at the age of 23, Hayon was accepted into the prestigious Fabrica, the communication research center of the Benetton Group.

The institution in Treviso, Italy, was founded in 1994 by Luciano Benetton and advertising executive Oliviero Toscani and is funded by the Benetton Group. Housed in a 17th-century Venetian villa restored by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, it provides a space for creatives from all areas of communication to explore the theme in all its forms and facets: design, music, the internet, journalism, writing, illustration, painting, architecture, interior design, performance art, graphic design, advertising, photography, and film. After a year as a trainee at Fabrica, Hayon was appointed head of the local design department, which focuses on interior design projects in general and the development of graphic design objects in particular. Hayon maintained his connection to Treviso and his proximity to Fabrica by opening his own design studio, his second company headquarters, in the capital of the province of the same name, Treviso, also known as the "City of Waters.".
Studio in southern Spain
Previously, in 2001, Hayon established himself as an artistic designer in Madrid with the founding of his 'Hayon Studio'. Today, Hayon Studio's creative base is located in the southern Spanish city of Valencia, known for its exciting mix of traditional old town and futuristic architecture, and – incidentally – as the birthplace of paella, the world-famous Spanish dish. In addition to Valencia, Hayon maintains offices in Barcelona and Treviso.
