Formakami JH18
The table lamp Formakami JH18 provides indirect, all-round light and can be fitted with two E27 light sources with a maximum of 60 watts each. In combination with the Formakami JH3, Formakami JH4 and Formakami JH5 pendant lights, islands of light can be installed in almost any room situation - from a small studio to a spacious loft ambience. Formakami JH18 can also be used as a floor luminaire.
As a light source in the hallway, on a reception desk in the foyer, on a coffee table in the living room, in the study and of course as a special design element in a walk-in closet or as a bedside lamp in the bedroom - thanks to its minimalist, edgeless and lightweight appearance, the table lamp Formakami JH18 can be used almost anywhere. A special highlight: the Formakami JH18 paper lamp is equipped with a dimmer switch, allowing the light intensity to be adjusted to the desired mood.

Paper lanterns have a long tradition in Asian culture. Different shapes and colors are attributed different meanings with individual symbolic power and are used in the Far East depending on the occasion. The so-called 'Japan ball', a white paper ball shade, began its triumphal march through homes around the world in the 1970s and is probably familiar to everyone. It is comparable to the white 'Monobloc' plastic chair, which was sold millions of times over. Hayon, the shooting star of the design scene, is different. Breaking away from cultural constraints to reinvent something old but new is Hayon's style in a nutshell.
With a height of 50 centimetres and a diameter of 38 centimetres, the Formakami JH18 table lamp weighs just over one kilogram. This makes the lightweight extremely easy to handle. A black cable supplies the Formakami JH18 with power. In the style of traditional Japanese lanterns, the lampshade of the table lamp Formakami JH18 is made from natural and renewable materials.
"Hayon has captured the essence of this iconic lantern by combining craftsmanship and ancient materials such as rice paper in a new lamp designed for a modern setting." white Martin Kornbek Hansen, Brand Director of &tradition. He adds: "The effect is a table lamp that provides light - and appears bright."
"Light has the ability to dispel darkness and bring hope," adds Jaime Hayon added. "For the paper lanterns, I kept the color white to make the appearance of the lamps themselves brighter. I also wanted them to emit even more light. More illumination. So I cut the bottom shape in half and left it open. With a secret desire to illuminate people's lives - literally and symbolically."
"For me, the beauty of these lanterns lies in their delicacy," concludes Hansen. "The airy, bulbous shapes in white rice paper, accented with black stained oak, is pure poetry."
