Table Gun chrome table lamp
With the Guns light series by Philippe Starck for Flos the head of the luminaire consists of a conical lampshade that provides direct light. The light source is concealed to the side in a simple yet elegant way. At the same time, the light is emitted upwards and downwards, bathing the immediate surroundings in a harmonious interplay of light and shadow. The light reflected in white (Table Gun chrome) or gold (Table Gun Gold), the inside of the lampshade absorbs the light before it escapes.

The lampshade is made of plasticized paper, while the lamp base is made of die-cast aluminium and then galvanically gold-plated (Table Gun Gold) or chrome-plated (Table Gun Chrome). The cable is fitted with an electronic dimmer, making the lights Guns collection infinitely dimmable.
The Table Gun Chrome is available with two different light sources: one for conventional lamps up to 150 watts with an E27 thread and a light temperature of 2,700 Kelvin (warm white). Secondly, with 8 watt LEDs, each with a light temperature of 2,700 Kelvin or 3,000 Kelvin (both warm white). A round base gives the Table Gun chrome table lamp from Flos provides a secure stand. The cable connection that supplies the Table Gun Chrome with power is also located here on the side.
Flos states that 20 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Guns lights collection will be donated to the non-profit organization "Frères de Hommes Europe", which provides humanitarian aid in crisis areas, particularly in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The lights of the Guns collection are political statements and art that denounce war and the arms trade as well as the predatory greed associated with it. As such, Guns are on permanent display at the Centre George Pompidou Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris.
"I wanted to design objects that remind us that our prosperity is based on the death of others," is how Philippe Starck describes the intention behind the design of his Guns lamps. The inscription on the base of the Guns lamp reflects this political intention. "Happiness is a hot gun", can be read here. Not forgetting the inside of the lampshade, on which printed crosses underline the statement. The base of the lamp reproduces the shape of a Klashnikov AK 47, a Russian assault and machine gun with the magazine pointing forwards - in this case upwards - standing vertically on the butt plate, with the light source appearing to be screwed onto the stock.
Table Gun Chrom, the table lamp by Flos from the Guns light series collection, was designed by Philippe Starck in 2005. Thanks to its striking and captivating silhouette, the 92.4 cm high table lamp Table Gun Chrome looks like a progressive lighting object, a statement for table and sideboard. In the TAGWERC Design STORE offers the table lamp Table Gun Chrome as well as all lights of the Guns collection by Flos as licensed originals with a guarantee of authenticity.
