Halley table lamp
Functional and fascinating
Sapper named his table lamp after Halley, Halley's comet, which can be seen from Earth with the naked eye every 74 to 79 years due to its enormous brightness. Halley is the table lamp of choice for optimally illuminating a zone. Technological, functional and at the same time fascinating like a comet, Halley embodies Sapper's design approach par excellence. Its incomparable flexibility directs the light exactly where it is needed. At the same time, the luminaire is TAGWERC can be ordered in two LED versions: with a light temperature - also known as color temperature - of 2,700 Kelvin and 3,000 Kelvin. Both correspond to warm white light, with 3,000 Kelvin bordering on neutral white light, which is usually used for working environments such as offices, meeting rooms, doctors' surgeries and the like.

Components in balance
Sapper's design approach is not exclusively inspired by formal aspects, but above all testifies to his in-depth knowledge of processes and modes of operation. For Halley, Sapper had several models built in order to perfectly balance the weights of the individual components, as the arm with the light source needed to be movable so that the light is always where it is needed. And Sapper reveals another aspect: "I also wanted the base of the lamp to be as far away from its top as possible, because my work table is always messy. There's nowhere near me to put the base of a lamp."
Hardware and software
An angular base, six joints, equipped with a system of asymmetrical arms that can be rotated 360 degrees using handles at the ends, are the hardware of the Halley table lamp. The luminaire's software is an advanced LED technology that combines energy efficiency with safety (low heat generation) and durability - LEDs have a service life of several tens of thousands of hours. Thanks to the LEDs, the light-diffusing head could be very small, and it was cooled by a fan built into a small tail. "H = like Halley," adds Sapper.
Contactless dimming system
Stilnovowho are reviving masterpieces and milestones in the art of lighting, have given the user of this ingenious and unique table lamp another practical function. The cooling fan, which was once necessary to operate the luminaire with halogen, has been removed and replaced by a contactless dimming system. It enables the luminaire to be switched on and off without contact and its light intensity to be adjusted simply by holding your hand close to the luminaire.
Halley as a licensed original
As a design classic, the Halley table lamp from Richard Sapper timeless design with state-of-the-art LED technology. It is ideal for use in work areas, desks or as accent lighting in living spaces. Halley is part of the Stilnovo collection at TAGWERC. At TAGWERC Design STORE you will only receive design originals from current production, i.e. new goods in original packaging, as well as all original spare parts for the Halley table and task light.
