Xai sculptural table - 21 unique pieces
This unique furnishing object in the style of surrealism is handmade in a limited edition of 20 white and one black lamb. Each of these art objects is unique, created in consultation with the Gala Salvador Dalí Foundation. Two renowned addresses combine their skills in the production of Xai. BD Barcelona from the capital of Catalonia has dedicated its Art Editions collection, which includes Xai, entirely to the preservation of lights and furniture art objects. Deyrolle - also known as Maison Deyrolle - has been a Parisian institution for natural history and education as a taxidermist since 1831.

Between function, aesthetics and fiction
On the surface, Xai appears to be a small table, but it is more of an artistic statement that - like the master of surrealism himself - blurs the boundaries between function, aesthetics and fiction. It combines the surrealist vision of Dalí with the craftsmanship of BD Barcelona and Dyrolle, making it a unique art object for connoisseurs and collectors. Xai measures around 87 centimetres in length with a back height of 59 centimetres and a head height of 71 centimetres. The width is given as 26 centimetres, although all measurements are approximate, as each Xai object must be regarded as unique. No lamb had to be sacrificed specifically for this object - rather, it was made in the spirit of sustainability.
Element from Dalí's painting
The painting "Interpretation Project for a Stable-Library" by Salvador Dalí in the style of surrealism is as fascinating as it is unusual. It shows a young woman in a room that is both a study and a barn. She is sitting or lying on the floor, surrounded by sheep and lambs. Right next to the woman, one of the lambs serves as a bedside table. It has a drawer on the side and a telephone on its back. This unexpected combination of animal and functional piece of furniture is the main theme of the painting. It gives the work its surrealistic touch.
Assured provenance
The sculptural table Xai is inspired by this painting. The idea of using a lamb as table was taken up by Dalí's work and transformed into an extraordinary work of art. This makes Xai one of the elements of Salvador Dalí's Surrealist paintings that have taken shape and are absolutely unique in this way. Art connoisseurs and collectors can obtain Xai from TAGWERC as a limited original.

The Xai lamb was designed by
Salvador Dalí
Salvador Dalí is one of the most famous - if not the most famous - Spanish painters of the 20th century. Born in Catalonia, he is considered the main representative of surrealism. His paintings fetch top prices and are represented in the most important collections. The art objects shown here are sculptures from his paintings. Some of them are limited editions that reflect Dalí's ideas.
