Reality rush lamp / Painting Pala Montefeltro
The Reality luminaire was created in the style of the painting Pala Montefeltro by the Italian painter Piero della Francesca. The artist, art theorist and mathematician is considered one of the most important painters of the early Renaissance. His painting is an altarpiece in the style of a 'Sacra Conversazione', an image of the Madonna and Child Jesus in the company of scholars. Painted between 1466 and 1474, the painting shows Mary with the infant Jesus in her arms, in the company of six saints, four angels and Federico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino and presumably the commissioner of the painting. The work is on display in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan and provided the inspiration for the light object.
