Reality Egg Lamp / Painting Pala Montefeltro
The Reality egg-shaped light fixture was inspired by the painting Pala Montefeltro by the Italian painter Piero della Francesca. The artist, art theorist, and mathematician is considered one of the most important painters of the Early Renaissance. His painting is an altarpiece in the style of a 'Sacra Conversazione,' depicting a Madonna and Child in the company of scholars. Created between 1466 and 1474, the painting shows Mary with the Christ Child in her arms, accompanied by six saints, four angels, and Federico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino and presumably the painting's patron. The work is exhibited in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan and provided the inspiration for the light fixture.
