VP YPSILON

Hand-knotted carpet

VP Ypsilon – the VP Ypsilon rug from Designercarpets appears like a three-dimensional painting. Architect and designer Verner Panton, who experimented with shapes and colors throughout his life, created this unique textile design in 1988 by combining squares with sides of the Y length. The pattern, composed of various shades of gray, thus appears interesting and ever-changing. Knotted from pure new wool, the VP Ypsilon exudes a cozy atmosphere. Upon request, the VP Ypsilon rug is also available in pure silk from the design interior specialist TAGWERC.

The VP Ypsilon rug was redesigned by Designercarpets based on Verner Panton's original design. Made of 100% pure new wool, the rug features shades of gray. In this version, the geometric pattern consists of Verner Panton's signature rectangles of varying sizes, whose unique arrangement creates the shape of a Y and an optical illusion upon closer inspection.

With its striking appearance, the VP Ypsilon rug by Verner Panton is a real eye-catcher, whether used as a runner in a hallway or passageway between two rooms, or as a cozy wall covering in front of a seating area in the living room or bedroom. On the wall, the VP Ypsilon rug resembles a graphic relief in the style of a graphic painting.

The exceptional comfort of the VP Ypsilon rug is enhanced by the material used: pure new wool. As a renewable and biodegradable resource, pure new wool is particularly valuable from an ecological perspective. Its other positive properties include: robustness, dirt-repellent, durable, warming, air-purifying, moisture-regulating, and flame-retardant. Especially when used in a rug like the VP Ypsilon, these advantages immediately increase the feeling of coziness.
