VP GEOMETRI

The unique pattern of the Geometri rug is based on two geometric shapes, a circle and a square. These round and angular elements are combined in the Geometri Carpet into ever new patterns. The colors black and white underline the high-contrast interplay and make the Geometri rug in black and white a design classics of timeless elegance and value.

In the same year that Verner Panton designed the pattern Geometri , he lined two objects with it. He designed the Showroom for the textile company Unika Vaev in New York/USA entirely in black and white. Geometri in red-orange on the other hand, dominated the bold interior design of the Astoria hotel and restaurant in Trondheim, Norway. The Dane completely covered the floors, ceilings and walls in this patterned dress. While Verner Panton designed Geometri as early as 1960, the general public only discovered this form of décor in the mid to late 1960s. Once again, Geometri proves what Verner Panton actually was: a pioneer and trailblazer of the great era of Pop Art.

Geometric shapes applied to home textiles were a major theme in the 1960s and are back in fashion today. The pattern Geometri is still available today as a carpet and upholstery and curtain fabric from Maharam. All versions of the Geometri fabric pattern still available today are available in the original from the design interior specialist TAGWERC. One of the most famous patterns of the Mid Century Art era adds an elegant accent to your home: whether as a curtain, rug or holistic Geometri room experience - as Verner Panton himself used the pattern throughout his life.

"The Geometri I carpet was designed in 1960 for the Astoria hotel and restaurant in Copenhagen. Today's production corresponds to the authentic model of the production of that time and reflects the textile expression in the spirit of the 1960s."
