Verner Pantona specialist in multifunctional seating furniture, developed a lounge furniture series in 1969. It was manufactured in a small series from glass fiber-reinforced Leguval, a polyester plastic, painted and presented in 1970 at the Visiona 2-exhibition in Cologne for the first time. At the time, Verner Panton's lounge furniture series consisted of four parts: a table, which could also be used as a stool, a recliner called 'Pantoffel' and a armchair in two heights. The latter was first produced in series in 1999 under the name Panto Pop.

The Danish furniture manufacturer Innovations Randers produced the armchair slightly modified from the original. For one thing, it was only about 98 percent the size, and for another, it was available in many different colors such as silver and grey, Black, white, pink, Orange, Blue and transparent. In the meantime, technology had advanced to the point where thermoplastics could be colored. On the one hand, this eliminated the need for time-consuming painting in the production of Panto Pop. It also made the armchair easier to care for and weather-resistant, which made it suitable for use in the garden and on the patio.
The Danish manufacturer has perfected this ability Verpan when he acquired the license rights to Panto Pop in 2012 and redesigned the armchair . In addition to a UV stabilizer, which was added to the ASA plastic, the seat was given a hole in the middle. This allows excess water to escape downwards. A detail that allows rainwater to run off and should help everyone when cleaning Panto Pop.
