Barboy rolling container

Mobile furniture was a major theme in the late 1960s and has remained a staple in interior design ever since. Here today, gone tomorrow – furniture should be versatile and adaptable to different environments and uses. Just as life is characterized by change, mobile furniture can be an anchor in a world of constant flux. Because mobile furniture like the Barboy Roll containers are – as the name suggests – mobile.

Bar cart and side table in one

Furniture like the Barboy is incredibly versatile and adapts to the changing needs of its owner: a narrow side table, a space-saving shelf, practical storage, an avant-garde nightstand, a stylish bar cart, a modern minibar – the Barboy can be anything you want it to be. Moved here today, there tomorrow, and quickly packed and unpacked during a move – the Barboy handles it all with ease. In addition to a range of movable furniture like the Barboy and the modular furniture system, the company also designed... Verner Panton The party set was also released in 1965. As is so often the case with Verner Panton, the name of the Barboy already implies its intended use: a rolling container that serves as a mobile Cocktail trolley, but it can also be used to store all sorts of utensils in all living spaces.

Materials and design

The Barboy is made of bent and lacquered plywood. The three compartments, each of varying heights, are flexibly stacked and swivel to the sides for opening. A plywood panel, lacquered in the Barboy's color, forms the top and also serves as a tray or storage surface. The Barboy's body rests on four stainless steel swivel casters, ensuring mobility and stability. A stylish stainless steel knob serves as both the top and a mounting point.

Ideas and inspiration

In 2014, the Moët & Chandon brand created a special bottle filled with vintage champagne. Grand Vintage Barboy In a limited edition, the black lacquer finish is accentuated by a caramel-colored leather interior, and a champagne cooler is integrated into the lower compartment. The middle compartment holds four champagne flutes designed by Riedel, while the third compartment accommodates additional accessories. This French creation provides ideas and inspiration for customizing the barman's stand to suit individual needs.
