Little Petra VB1 Lounge Chair

Exhibitions and awards

architect and Designer Viggo Boesen The Little Petra lounge chair was first presented in 1938 at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition. Further international exhibitions and awards followed, even though only 30 pieces were produced at the time. Despite its compact size, Little Petra impresses with its unique form. Like a negative mold, the backrest of the Little Petra lounge chair mirrors the anatomical silhouette of the sitter. Thanks to this cradling effect, the lounge chair feels exceptionally comfortable. Little Petra VB1 The armchair feels particularly cozy and comfortable, playfully overshadowing large, voluminous wingback chairs.

Little Petra

The Little Petra lounge chair is named after Boesen's mother-in-law and the fact that this cocktail chair appears relatively small with a total height of just 75 centimeters. Little Petra impresses with its exceptional comfort and proves to be not only comfortable but also extremely versatile when it comes to choosing a seating position.

The essence of a lounge chair

Low to the ground, open, and embracing, Little Petra embodies the essence of a lounge chair, allowing for all kinds of seating positions in any conceivable setting: lobby, lounge, living room, club, study, nursing room, children's room, bedroom, hallway, office. "A great deal of work has been invested to ensure maximum comfort, from the seat to the upholstery," emphasizes the manufacturer &Tradition, which revived Little Petra in 2018. Emphasis has also been placed on the use of natural materials: the chair's legs are crafted from oak or walnut, reflecting Viggo Boesen's love of natural materials.

Our conclusion

The sheepskin-covered version, in particular, reinforces this idea and is distinguished by its special qualities. Firstly, genuine fur is especially robust and durable. Secondly, the Little Petra VB1 armchair with sheepskin upholstery is characterized by its moisture-regulating and insulating properties, making it snug, warm, and comfortable. However, the fabric versions of this armchair also have their advantages. Whether fabric or fur – Little Petra by &tradition is perfect for… TAGWERC Design Team a lounge chair that has the potential to become your favorite spot.
