Little Petra VB1 Lounge Chair

Exhibitions and awards

Architect and Designer Viggo Boesen presented theLittle Petra Lounge Chair for the first time in 1938 at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition. This was followed by further international exhibitions and awards, although only 30 pieces were produced at the time. Little Petra impresses with its compact size and special shape. Like a kind of negative form, the backrest of the Little Petra lounge chair replicates the anatomical silhouette of the sitter. Thanks to this embeddedness, theLittle Petra VB1 armchair feels particularly cozy and comfortable and playfully puts large, voluminous wing chairs in the shade.

Little Petra

TheLittle Petra lounge armchair is named after Boesen's mother-in-law and the fact that this cocktail armchair appears relatively small with a total height of just 75 centimeters. Yet Little Petra is particularly comfortable and proves to be not only comfortable but also extremely versatile when it comes to choosing a seating position.

The essence of a lounge chair

Low to the ground, open and 'embracing', Little Petra embodies the essence of a lounge chair and allows all kinds of seating positions in every conceivable environment: lobby, lounge, living room, club, men's room, nursing room, children's room, bedroom, hallway, office. "A lot of work has gone into ensuring the greatest possible comfort, from the seat to the upholstery," emphasizes the manufacturer &Tradition, which reborn Little Petra in 2018. And emphasis was also placed on the use of natural materials: The chair's legs are made of oak or walnut, reminiscent of Viggo Boesen's love of natural materials.

Our conclusion

The sheepskin-covered version in particular supports this idea and is characterized by special properties. On the one hand, real fur is particularly robust and hard-wearing. On the other hand, the Litte Petra VB1 armchair upholstered in sheepskin is characterized by its moisture-regulating and insulating properties, which make it cosy and warm. But the fabric versions of this armchair also have their advantages. Whether fabric or fur - Litte Petra from &tradition is designed for the TAGWERC Design TEAM a lounge armchair that has what it takes to become a favorite spot.
