Elle Decor Italia - The Art of Light
On the occasion of the Milan Furniture Fair 2023
As part of this year's Milan Furniture Fair from April 17 to 23, 2023, the interior design magazine "Elle Decor" celebrated in Palazzo Bovara under the motto "The Art of Light". The interior installation was curated by interior design studio Giuliano Andrea dell'Uva in collaboration with Metis Lighting for the lighting design. For the furious interior design, a symbiosis of light, art and interior, the furnishing objects were staged by Centro Studi Poltronova, Poltronova for short.
Disco, Disco
This project, curated by two of the most innovative artists on the Italian scene, impressively showcases SOFO, the sofa and armchair version, the T02 coffee table - both by Superstudio - and the RUMBLE sofa by Gianni Pettena. Sofo becomes the protagonist of a room inspired by the private disco of an art collector. The "S" block, cut from a polyurethane cube, is covered with an elastic fabric with two wide strips running through it and can be lined up like a train or stacked on top of each other like a tower in the two versions, Rosancio and Verosa. The result is always an abstract and colorful ambience that conveys joie de vivre and extravagance.
Color experience
The central and eponymous theme of the exhibition "The Art of Light" is the symbiosis between light and color, including the refraction of light on surfaces and textiles. In the room where the charismatic Rumble seating object is placed, white light projectors gradually bring out the royal blue color of the historic Casentino fabric with which the sofa is upholstered.
Charisma of chaos
The special design of this object stems from the experience of living in a large room, originally an artist's studio from the 19th century, for which furniture had to be designed to the size of the room and not the size of the person. Rumble is an object that breaks up both form and function. It gains expression and charisma when the clear geometry of its original setting is rearranged, making it appear chaotic both visually and functionally at first glance.
