Sophisticated construction and design award
All Flowerpot lights luminaires are characterized by a simple yet sophisticated basic construction. The body of the Flowerpot luminaire is made up of two hemispheres. The upper, larger hemisphere holds the light source, while the lower hemisphere, which is just half the size, faces the upper one and is held in position by a metal frame that is invisible from the outside. The small hemisphere conceals the light source and provides pleasant indirect light. The inner surfaces of the hemispheres are coated white and serve as light reflectors. The sophisticated construction of the Flowerpot earned Designer Verner Panton the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Flowerpot and Flower Power
The Flowerpot lights by &Tradition, designed by Verner Panton in 1968, was created in the happy and carefree era of the Flower Power movement. Verner Panton loved to arrange the pendant light in groups of ten or more lamps. But even just one Flowerpot lamp looks like a small light object.
Classics of design history
With a wide range of available colors, the Flowerpot luminaire offers the best possible variation in design. This means that Flowerpot lights can be matched to the color scheme of its surroundings. Deliberate design accents are created when the shade of the Flowerpot luminaire picks up on the color scheme of an object in the room, such as a painting, carpet, tiles, etc. Half a century after its first design, the Flowerpot luminaire series is now more popular than ever and is undoubtedly a classic in design history.
