Panthella lights by Verner Panton

Panthella lights, also known as Panthella lamps, are part of a lighting series from the Danish interior design label Louis Poulsen, manufactured under license based on a design by the architect Verner Panton from 1971. floor lamp Panthella F (F=Floor) and the table lamps Panthella T and Panthella Mini T (T=Table). All Panthella lights and all spare parts are originally available from the design interior specialist TAGWERC.

Simplicity and elegance

Hallway lamp, living room lamp, bedside lamp, lamp on a sideboard in the hallway or children's room, classic accent on a side table in the living room or as a beautifully designed eye-catcher in the meeting room and office - Verner Panton loved Panthella for its simplicity and elegance and placed Panthella in almost every room of his own apartment in Copenhagen.

Light and colors

Panton was living here when he prepared a retrospective entitled 'Light and Colors' at the Trapholt Design Museum in Kolding, Denmark, in 1998. The room installation bathed eight rooms in different colors. As fate would have it, Verner Panton did not live to see the opening of his life's work, as he died just a few days before the opening. To mark the ninetieth anniversary of Verner Panton's birth in 2016, Louis Poulsen is relaunching the Panthella Mini. The colors of the Panthella Mini are based on the colors table lamp are based on the colors that Panton chose for his retrospective 'Light and Colors' at the Trapholt Design Museum.

Modern lighting technology

Panthella Mini works with an integrated LED light source, while the classic Panthella lights, Panthella F and Panthella T can be fitted with any light source in the specified wattage range thanks to a conventional socket. In contrast to the newly launched Panthella Mini, both the floor lamp Panthella F and the table lamp Panthella T from Louis Poulsen are now produced exclusively in white. The lampshade made of white plastic has a certain transparency so that it is illuminated by the light source.

Sophisticated design

All Panthella lights luminaires are characterized by a simple yet sophisticated basic construction. The body of the Panthella luminaire consists of a hemisphere that is open at the bottom. The hemisphere conceals the light source to the side and upwards. In contrast to the Panthella lights with translucent lampshade, Panthella F, Fanthella T and Panthella Mini in opal white, the inner surfaces of the colored lacquered Panthella Mini lampshades are coated in white and serve as a light reflector. The sophisticated and elegant design of the Panthella lights really sets the scene in any ambience.

Classics of design history

As a design classic, the Panthella lights combines timeless design with modern materials. With a wide range of available colors, the new Panthella Mini table lamp offers the best possible variation in design. This allows Panthella Mini lights to be matched to the color scheme of its surroundings. Deliberate design accents are created when the shade of the Panthella Mini luminaire picks up on the color scheme of an object in the room, for example a painting, carpet, tiles, etc. Decades after its first design, the Panthella luminaire series is now more popular than ever and undoubtedly a classic in design history.
