Montana Selection
Individual furniture modules
Montana Selection is a modular furniture system for the Home and office area that is hard to beat in terms of individuality and versatility. In addition to mobile storage solutions such as mobile shelving units and mobile pedestals, the Montana Selection series includes coatstands, consoles, shelving units, wall-mounted desks and cabinets. The series of preconfigured storage modules for all kinds of room situations goes back to the idea of company founder Peter J. Lassen in 1982.
Endless combination possibilities
Then as now, shelves and wall cabinets adapted to the respective room were and are only possible with great financial and time expenditure. For this reason, the former managing director of the Danish furniture label Fritz Hansen developed a furniture system that offers an infinite number of different possibilities and colors: Storage modules with endless combination possibilities. The preconfigured furniture only needs to be selected and the right color chosen. There are 40 lacquer colors to choose from and you can decide whether the furniture should be fitted with legs, suspension fittings, plinths or castors.
Modular and mobile
Here today, there tomorrow - furniture should be versatile and adapt to different environments and areas of use. Just as life is characterized by change, transportable furniture can be an anchor in a world full of change. This is where the Montana Selection furniture system comes in. The individual parts can be combined with each other, added to endlessly and can be used in very different places: first in the children's room, then in the student digs, and even later in your own home. Montana Selection can be expanded and added to almost endlessly. When moving house, the modular furniture can be quickly packed up and unpacked in the new home.
Today a bar trolley, tomorrow a baby shelf
Mobile furniture from the Montana Selection collection can be modularly expanded, reduced in size, added to and used here and there. And if it is design classics like the mobile furniture collected at TAGWERC Design STORE , it can even be sold again if it is no longer needed at some point. If that's what you want. If not, the mobile furniture from the Montana Selection line by Peter J. Lassen accompanies us on our journey through space and time. They are first used as a bar trolley, then as a bathroom cabinet, bedside table, toy box, later perhaps as storage for baby utensils, in the home office, office, sewing or craft room.
The Montana furniture system
When Peter J. Lassen left Fritz Hansen in 1979, he bought his design for this furniture system with part of his severance pay. He took it with him and developed it further. At the beginning of the 1980s, he presented the resulting system furniture for the first time at the Cologne Furniture Fair. The response was overwhelming and the production site in Haarby, Denmark had to be expanded immediately and has been maintained and extended over the years to this day. The foundation stone for the success story of the Montana Selection furniture system was laid.
"System of freedom"
Peter J. Lassen described his Montana shelves as "a system of freedom". And indeed: around 5 billion possible combinations, which result from 42 basic elements, 4 depths, formerly 50, today 40 colors and veneers, are gigantic and make the customer the designer of his living space. Custom-fit, high-quality wardrobes and shelves provide attractive storage space for individual room situations. Basic modules can be connected and recombined again and again, forming the substructure of a bed, for example, while at the same time providing intelligent storage space.
Made in Denmark
While others relocate their production abroad, Lassen invested in its Danish site and continuously strived for improvements. Out of environmental awareness, Lassen invested early on in environmentally friendly technologies. For example, the furniture modules are painted with water-based paints. Small accessories enable flexible assembly: the furniture elements can be set up freely or mounted on the wall. All production takes place in Haarby on Funen, where Peter J. Lassen supervised all processes and machines and passed this task on to his son Joakim Lassen.
From raw material to finished shelving
"You could say that the raw materials go in on one side and the finished furniture elements come out on the other - the Montana employee responsible for us once described it aptly with these words," recalls the TAGWERC Managing Director. The entire Montana Selection collection is available from Montana dealer TAGWERC. If you are missing something or can't find it straight away, the TAGWERC Design TEAM will be happy to help you.
