Salone del Mobile 2024 is just around the corner, and we are receiving invitations daily from design manufacturers, artists, and curators to the world's leading trade fair for interior design. Centro Studi Poltronova, in short Poltronova, will be represented again for the first time at the exhibition grounds in the Linate district of Milan and will also play a role in the so-called 'Capsule Plaza'.
About Capsule Plaza
Capsule Plaza is an event that takes place during Milan Design Week. It is a mix of trade fair and collective exhibition that Designer and aims to bring together companies from various creative fields. The event combines industry and culture through a multi-sensory curation encompassing interior design, design, technology, innovation, and craftsmanship.
Satellite city and creative quarter
For its 2024 edition, taking place from April 15 to 21, Capsule Plaza will not only occupy the Spazio Maiocchi space but also incorporate a new satellite city: the creative quarter 10 Corso Como, featuring newly renovated art and design galleries by the interdisciplinary agency 2050+1. Curated by Alessio Ascari, founder and creative director of Capsule, together with architect Paul Cournet, the event returns for its second edition to the site of Milan Design Week 2024.
Who's Who of Design
The invitation provides a preview of the Capsule Plaza 2024 program, which will take place at two venues. Brands such as Rimowa featuring La Marzocco, Poltronova featuring Harry Nuriev, Nike Alphafly 3 featuring Alaska Alaska; Hydro featuring Inga Sempé, Max Lamb, Andreas Engesvik, Shane Schneck, Earnest Studio, John Tree and Philippe Malouin will be participating.; BD Barcelona Featuring Muller Van Severen, Tiffany & Co. – to name just a few. And the renowned Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, founded in 1978 by architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, is also traveling from Basel to participate in Capsule Plaza 2024.
Artists and design partners
The exhibitions and installations will be accompanied by a program of pop-ups, lectures, and workshops featuring a wide range of artists. Among them are the award-winning Australian designer Marc Newson, the acclaimed British designer Max Lamb, his compatriot and fashion designer Samuel Ross, and others. The third issue of the magazine is scheduled for release at the same time as the exhibition opening. According to the publisher, the annual publication reinterprets the concept of radical design for the present day.
