Shiva Vase | Blue Limited Edition

Fresh from the Milan furniture fair 'Salone del Mobile 2024', TAGWERC presents the Blue Limited Edition of the legendary Shiva Vase by the grand master of pop modernism Ettore Sottsass. BD Barcelona is now reissuing the charismatic Vase in a strictly limited edition and presenting it at Capsule Plaza. After the Milan Furniture Fair, Blue Limited Edition will be available exclusively at TAGWERC Showroom for design classics .

Collectors and design connoisseurs

Collectors and design connoisseurs are always on the lookout for very special unique pieces and limited editions. Decades of practice and experience of the TAGWERC Design TEAM show that limited editions are often in moderate demand immediately after their launch. However, once the limited number of pieces from the outset comes to an end or all the pieces are suddenly sold out, demand and price increase exorbitantly. This was the case with the summer edition of the Panton Chair in dark lime and the Panton Wire shelf with a gold leaf finish: once sold out, demand skyrocketed and the price suddenly played a secondary role. Those who bought these limited editions immediately were lucky.

Inspiration from trips to India

The Shiva Vase itself yes is already unique. Designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1971, the ignorant sometimes take offense at the shape - as is often the case with the Gun series by Philippe Starck. For the Shiva Vase it is the stylized phallus symbol. The Indian god Shiva, god of opposites, is often not represented by a figurative figure, but by a "lingam", a symbol. The representation in the form of a stone rounded at the top varies and is sometimes remotely reminiscent of a stylized phallus. Sottsass brought this inspiration back with him from his travels to India and incorporated his impressions into designs such as the Shiva Vase.

Strictly limited

In our last news post, we promised to report on news from the Salone del Mobile 2024 in the TAGWERC Design STORE shortly. We are therefore particularly pleased to be able to offer the Blue Limited Edition of the Shiva Vase by BD Barcelona in the TAGWERC Showroom for design classics with immediate effect and until further notice - until stocks last. The edition is limited to 999 pieces and each piece is marked on the underside of the Vase signed accordingly. An attractive opportunity for collectors and design lovers.
