Collectors and design connoisseurs

Collectors and design connoisseurs are always on the lookout for truly special one-of-a-kind pieces and limited editions. The decades of experience of the TAGWERC Design TEAM have shown that limited editions often initially experience moderate demand immediately after their release. However, once the limited number of pieces is nearly gone or all units are suddenly sold out, demand and price skyrocket. We saw this with the summer edition of the Panton Chair in Darklime and the Panton Wire shelf with a gold leaf finish: once sold out, demand skyrocketed, and price suddenly became secondary. Those who snapped up these limited editions immediately were the lucky ones.

Inspiration from trips to India

The Shiva vase is unique in itself. Designed in 1971 by Ettore Sottsass, its form sometimes takes issue with those unfamiliar with it – much like the Gun series by Philippe Starck. For the Shiva vase, it is the stylized phallic symbol. The Indian god Shiva, god of opposites, is often represented not by a pictorial figure, but by a "lingam," a symbol. The representation, in the form of a rounded stone, varies and sometimes vaguely resembles a stylized phallus. Sottsass brought this inspiration back from his travels in India and incorporated his impressions into designs such as the Shiva vase.
