Passion is probably the best foundation for any profession. TAGWERC was founded in 2009 by Pop Art design enthusiasts. The first step: a knowledge portal about the Danish Designer Verner Panton, which is adjoined by a mono-store dedicated to Verner Panton design objects. In addition to their showroom and online shop for licensed Verner Panton designs, the company founders are creating a digital space with meticulously researched stories and background information on the designs. The mono-store features the licensed designs of a single designer, produced under license by companies such as Vitra, Verpan, Louis Poulsen, &tradition and Teppich Drechsle are produced, is very popular with manufacturers and TAGWERC is becoming internationally known as a specialist in the scene.
Slippers for the Panton chair
Questioning facts and finding solutions to everyday problems are second nature at TAGWERC, and so the idea matured to develop an accessory for the Panton chair. The company needed to optimize the chair's use on smooth floors. Up until then, the chair's single runner sometimes left scratches on the 130-year-old wooden floorboards in TAGWERC's headquarters. After months of development, the Panto Glide felt glide was launched in 2011 – a kind of slipper, suitable for the Verner Panton cantilever chair made of plastic.
Tagwerc Cushion Collection
Shortly thereafter, in 2012, TAGWERC launched its own cushion collection. This collection initially consisted of three different designs by Verner Panton, available in various color combinations. "If only it were possible to offer other designers a similar forum," they wished. Thus, on the tenth anniversary, the idea matured to make the stories of other designers accessible alongside the Verner Panton design history, and to bring them to life through a selection of design objects for the home – the 'TAGWERC Design STORE' was born.

The company thus consolidates a unique knowledge portal about designers, designs, and design movements, operating independently, based on scientific research, and providing well-founded information. Today, it features exceptional designers and artists such as Salvador Dalí, Antoni Gaudí, Joe Colombo, Ettore Sottsass, Gunnar Aagaard Andersen, Studio DDL, Viggo Boesen and other visionaries.
