Solid manufacturing experience
Verpan's story began in Denmark in 2003. From the outset, Verpan collaborated with Frandsen Lighting on the production of designer Verner Panton's lamps. This Danish company had already amassed considerable manufacturing experience in the lighting sector since 1968 – albeit in a lower price segment. The VP Globe, with a diameter of 50 centimeters, was the first lamp produced that same year.
Panton Table and Party Set
Shortly thereafter, Verpan was acquired and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Frandsen Group, which also owns Frandsen Lighting. The close and inspiring collaboration with the designer's widow, Marianne Panton, and her family led to the continuous expansion of Verpan's Verner Panton collection. In 2010, Verpan presented redesigned pieces based on Verner Panton's furniture designs for the first time at the Interieur trade fair in Kortrijk, Belgium. With the 1-2-3 Chair, the Panton Table, the Multifunctional Boxes, and the Party Set, Verpan expanded its product range into the furniture sector. Fortunately, the Barboy Thanks to this new direction – albeit produced in a far less elaborate way – it can continue to exist, because Vitra had ceased production.
Quality and originality
A contemporary synthesis of quality and originality, Verpan's manufacturing maxim, is reflected in every single product. Adherence to Verner Panton's philosophy plays a central role in this. As a mark of authenticity, every Panton object manufactured by Verpan bears its master's signature. A beautiful idea for authentication and, at the same time, a tribute to one of the most outstanding designers. Designer the second half of the 20th century.
